Polish Graphic Design
The past decade has been a time of intensive development for graphic design in Poland: the educational curriculum has been modernised, talented artists have been emerging, design studios have been developing, and important and ground-breaking projects have been realised. At the same time, there has been very little awareness of Polish design in the rest of the world. The Polish Graphic Design Awards meet these challenges. The originators of the competition wish for it to be a source of knowledge, an educational tool and a platform for promoting graphic design and Polish designers. The Polish Graphic Design Awards is an open competition created with Polish visual designers and their clients in mind. The aim of the competition is to present annually the best, most interesting, and most important designs implemented in all fields of visual communication in Poland. The competition is open to projects from all areas of visual communication and media related to graphic design, such as: visual identification, poster design, font design, illustration, publishing, press, infographics, wayfinding, packaging, motion graphics, digital media and experimental design. The formula of the competition is open and addressed to professionals: independent artists, freelancers, informal groups, design teams, design studios and advertising agencies, as well as contractors – companies and institutions for whom projects were carried out. Only works that have been completed, implemented or made public within a given calendar year may be submitted to the competition. In the Polish Graphic Design Awards competition, the awards will be granted by an independent jury composed of outstanding specialists and design authorities from Poland and abroad. The main criterion for the selection of works will be their high aesthetic quality, functionality and usefulness, original and innovative form, and the way they solve a design or business problem.
